Program: Salvation Army Aberdeen Social Services (including COVID-19 Relief Assistance)


Provides assistance with:
  • Clothing: Vouchers available by meeting with a case worker.
  • Food Pantry: Short on food? Can supply temporary groceries to assist those in need. Assistance available once every 90 days.
  • Mealshare: Hot lunch served ever weekday 12noon - 12:30pm.
  • Feed the Kids: Free lunches for kids during summer months. 
  • Utilities: Assistance available for water, lights, or electric heat. Available up to 1 time a year, must have a disconnection notice.
  • Prescriptions: Assistance available once every 90 days.
  • Rent: Assistance is available once a year
  • Personal hygiene items and laundry detergent 
  • Other needs: varies based on ability
  • Diapers: Available based on donations
  • Spiritual support
  • After school program: 3:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday - Friday, when school is in session. For those in Kindergarten - 5th grade, access to computers for homework, games, etc. No transportation provided.
  • School supplies: applications are typically after the 4th of July and extend for a week. To get an application, go to SA office. People on SNAP automatically qualify. People who qualify receive a card that need to bring that to the distribution date (typically couple weeks before school starts). Students are also given a brand new pair of shoes.

COVID-19 (Closures, Restrictions, Other Info)4/30/20 - For those affected by COVID, relief funds available for utility and rent/mortgage payments and food boxes for individuals and families. Additionally, offering personal hygiene items or laundry detergent. Also, hot meals (Mealshare) for everyone in the family, over the noon hour, served drive-thru style in alley behind building. There is produce and bread available as well.
Additional afternoon hours (until 4:00pm) due to increased need.
