Description

Works to protect life, property, and natural resources in Shasta County. Works in cooperation with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Services include (and are not limited to):

  • Structural fire suppression
  • Wildland fire suppression
  • Response to hazardous materials incidents
  • Search and rescue
  • Water rescue
  • Vehicle extrication
  • Basic life support medical services
  • Campfire permits
  • Christmas tree permits
  • Educational materials.

Residents who wish to burn yard debris must follow any requirements for burn permits and burn restrictions in their area. Residents of the following areas should contact their district's fire department in:

  • Redding/Buckeye
  • Shasta Lake
  • Anderson
  • Cottonwood.

In other areas of Shasta County, one should contact their local fire authority or CAL FIRE. The Shasta County Air Quality Management District provides permissive burn day information.
