Provides a variety of support programs for individuals and families. Offers a safe and comfortable environment and large play area. Services include: - Food Pantry: Provides emergency food and food pantry for those in need.
- Child development activities: Enrichment for parents and children
- Support services for children ages 0-5: Kindergarten readiness
- Weekly playgroups
- Summer day camp for ages 5-10
- Parenting classes to enhance parenting practices and behaviors; in-person and online, visit website for details
- Parent/Caregiver support group: Thursdays, 5:30pm (includes dinner and child care)
- Mental health workshops and referrals
- Application help with:
- Energy Assistance (home heating - electric, propane or wood) with GNS (Great Northern Services)
- CalFresh (food)
- Medi-Cal (health insurance).
- Resource and referral to assist with identifying and linking services
- Copy machine and fax services (fee-based)
- Youth Projects: Committed Chapter and Girls Circle in local schools
- Monthly book distribution to Preschools
- Free events throughout the year
- Meeting space available
- Disaster preparedness trainings available remotely or in-person
- Disaster case management.
Also offers Senior services at the Weed Community Center (161 East Lincoln Avenue, Weed), including: - Activities for seniors on Mondays, 11am-2pm. Includes senior exercise class and bingo. Provides lunch at 12noon.
- HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program): Provides free counseling to people with, or wanting to enroll in, Medicare. Call for appointment.
