Due to an abundance of caution with COVID-19, the Regional Centers in Anaheim, Cypress, Garden Grove, Laguna Hills, and Santa Ana and the Adult Services Office will be open from 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday. All other offices remain closed to the public. Individuals arriving at the Adult Services Office will be met by staff who will ask about the purpose of their visit and will conduct a short screening questionnaire before the individual can enter the lobby. Visitors who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear a mask. Visitors who are unvaccinated are required to wear a mask or cloth facial covering for the duration of their visit. Children 2 years and younger, those who have breathing issues, or those with an underlying medical or mental health issue are exempt from wearing a mask. To avoid long in-person wait times or exposure to illness, individuals can visit the online portal at www.mybenefitscalwin.org or call the Call Center at 800-281-9799.

Description
Provides a 24 hour crisis intervention hotline to report elder and dependent adult abuse or exploitation issues including:
  • Physical or financial abuse
  • Psychological abuse (such as verbal harrassment, threats, or other intimidating behavior)
  • Neglect or self-neglect
  • Abandonment
  • Abduction or isolation
Names of the reporting parties are confidential and will not be revealed to the victim, their family or the alleged abuser.

Eligibility: - Reporters: All ages; For services: must be a resident of Orange County and a victim of abuse either by self or by another that occurred in the community; Must be 65 years and older or an adult 18-64 years, who is dependent and is physically, mentally, or developmentally disabled

Application Process: Telephone; After the report a social worker will respond immediately in an emergency or within 10 calendar days of the report; Names of reporting parties are confidential and will not be revealed to the victim, their family, or the alleged abuser
