Description
Services cannot be provided for temporary maintenance outages, regular non-planned temporary power outages or any other type of outage. Services listed below are ONLY available during a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. One must sign-up for PG&E programs and complete an assessment with DAC BEFORE a PSPS event.
DAC in Redding serves as the main support center in the event of a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Serves people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with Access & Functional Needs (AFN). Provides a source of power or motel room for those who rely on electric power for DME. Durable Medical Equipment may include:
- Nebulizers
- CPAP
- Oxygen
- Power wheelchairs
- Assistive technology (such as TTY).

After signing up with one of the above programs, DAC can provide an assessment of needs.
Depending on needs, DAC can provide one of the following services during a preplanned PSPS event only:
- Batteries on loan (depending on available inventory)
- Financial assistance with gas for generators
- Hotel vouchers and food assistance for duration of PSPS event.
