Description
Services listed below are ONLY available during a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. In order to receive services promptly, one must sign-up for PG&E programs and complete an assessment with the Disability Action Center (DAC) BEFORE a PSPS event.

DAC in Redding serves as the main support center in the event of a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Serves people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with Access & Functional Needs (AFN). Services cover Shasta, Tehama, Siskiyou, and Lassen County residents. Services are for those who rely on electric power for Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Equipment may include:
  • Nebulizers
  • CPAP
  • Oxygen
  • Power wheelchairs
  • Assistive technology (such as TTY).
One must first sign up with PG&E for one of these programs:After signing up with one of the above programs, DAC can provide an assessment of needs. Depending on needs, DAC can provide one of the following services during a PSPS event:
  • Batteries on loan
  • Financial assistance with gas for generators
  • Hotel vouchers
