Provides financial assistance to help families and individuals with limited income buy nutritious foods. Many working individuals qualify, along with SSI recipients. Non-citizens may qualify for food assistance through the California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) under CalFresh.

Provides benefits on an electronic benefit transfer card (EBT card). Most grocery stores and farmer's markets accept this card. To replace a lost EBT card or to find a location that accepts EBT, call EBT Customer Service. Or visit the EBT website.

Note: CalFresh clients affected by a disaster and in need of food replacement may contact their local office to see if eligible. Individuals and families who are not eligible for regular CalFresh may be eligible for Disaster CalFresh. This depends on qualifying disaster-related expenses.
