Service Types:

  • Fixed Route Buses:
    • Regular buses with wheelchair access and bike racks. Areas of operation include: Redding, City of Shasta Lake, Anderson, Burney, and Shingletown.
      • Free rides available for: Seniors (60+), Shasta College students and staff, Youth (18 and under), Veterans, and people going to jury duty.
      • Half-price fares available for: People with disabilities, on SSI, or Medicare.
  • Demand Response:
    • Curb-to-curb rides for those who can’t use regular buses due to a disability. Application required. Wheelchair accessible.
      • Free rides available for: Veterans.
  • ShastaConnect Rural Demand Response:
    • Door-to-door rides in rural areas outside regular bus zones. Serves the general public, seniors (60+), and mobility-impaired adults (18+). Wheelchair accessible.
      • Areas of operation for all passengers include:
        • Cottonwood, Happy Valley, Bella Vista, Millville, Palo Cedro, Burney, Fall River, Cassel, McArthur, Lakehead, Mountain Gate.
      • Areas of operation for Veterans, seniors (65+), and persons with disabilities include: all of the above plus the cities of Anderson, Redding, and Shasta Lake.

  • Runabout Micro Transit:
    • Point-to-point service throughout Shasta Lake/Mountain Gate, Redding, and Anderson/South County. Operates in five daytime zones and one evening/Sunday zone. Wheelchair accessible.
      • Free rides available for: Seniors (60+), Shasta College students and staff, Youth (18 and under), Veterans, and people going to jury duty.
      • Half-price fares available for: People with disabilities, on SSI, or Medicare.
    • To book a ride, download the RABA & ShastaConnect App or call 530-241-2877.
  • Burney Express:
    • Weekday commuter bus between Redding and Burney, with stops at Shasta College, Bella Vista, Round Mountain, and Montgomery Creek. Connects to Sage Stage for travel to Fall River Mills and Alturas.
  • Beach Bus (Summer Only):
    • Seasonal route from Downtown Redding to Whiskeytown Lake. Runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Wheelchair accessible and has bike racks.
  • Redding Bikeshare:
    • Free access to Redding Bikeshare for RABA riders. Get a voucher for free 24 hours of Redding Bikeshare (60 minute increments) to help with first or last mile connections. Ask at the Downtown Terminal (Mon–Sat, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM) for a code to unlock bikes using the BCycle app.
  • Vanpool:
    • Shared vans for 7–15 commuters. One member of the group drives. Vans are provided by RABA.
  • Amtrak Thruway Bus:
    • Bus connection from Redding to Red Bluff and Chico, with connections to Sacramento, Stockton, and beyond.
  • RABA Runner (Uber Discount):
    • Get up to $5 off an Uber ride, up to six times per week. Serves the Redding Urbanized Area (City of Redding and immediate surrounding area).
