Provides free information about Medicare. Offers advice to those on Medicare when claim gets denied. Helps explain the difference between Medicare Prescription and Medicare Advantage Plans. Also provides free presentations about Medicare for groups.

Program relies on volunteers who provide advice. Need to be in the areas of Siskiyou, Shasta, Modoc, Trinity, and Lassen County.

Volunteer duties: Volunteers are trained to counsel clients (24-30 hours of basic training, 10 hours of internship); must be computer literate, and not involved in insurance product sales; must be willing to volunteer 10-15 hours per month and complete 12 hours of update training per year; call 800-434-0222 for application and more information
