Description

Offers an energy discount for households using certain energy-intensive medical equipment. To qualify for the $15 monthly MED Rate discount, a full-time resident of your household must have a medical necessity certified by a qualified health professional such as a licensed Medical Doctor, Osteopath, Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician's Assistant.

The MED Discount Rate Covers:

  • In-home dialysis cycler
  • Electric wheelchair
  • Oxygen concentrator
  • Ventilator (not a CPAP or BIPAP machine)
  • Extraordinary heating or air-conditioning needs due to a person's medical condition


Customers on the MED Rate program are required to renew their eligibility every 1 - 2 years. Customers whose medical devices have been identified by a qualified health professional as necessary for permanent use are required to renew their eligibility every 4 years.

The EAPR discount can be combined with the MED discount to get the most savings.
