Description
The Do Not Call Registry allows people to add phone numbers to a national registry to reduce unwanted telemarketing calls.
The registry:
- Registers phone numbers through an online form or by phone
- Sends confirmation emails for online registrations
- Accepts complaints about illegal or unwanted sales calls
- Helps identify and investigate potential scam callers
Most legitimate companies are required by law to avoid numbers listed on the registry. Calls from scammers may still occur and should be reported.
