Description

The Energy Assistance Program Rate (EAPR) offers monthly bill discounts to support customers who need financial assistance. Households with incomes at or below the federal poverty level receive the greatest savings. Specifically, EAPR participants with household incomes ranging from 0% to 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) qualify for the largest monthly discounts. In addition to reduced rates on energy usage, EAPR also includes a $10 discount on the System Infrastructure Fixed Charge.

EAPR customers are required to renew their eligibility every 1 - 2 years.


The discount amounts are:

0% - 50% of FPL: $105

>50% - 100% of FPL: $42

>100% - 150% of FPL : $20

>150% - 200% of FPL: $10


EAPR customers may also be eligible for energy efficiency programs and education that can further reduce their energy bills.

Eligibility: Households are eligible for the discounted rate if their income doesn't exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (effective as of January 2025).

Income-Based Eligibility Guidelines:
Household size of 1-2: monthly income of $3,525; annual income of $42,300
Household size of 3: monthly income of $4,442; annual income of $53,300
Household size of 4: monthly income of $5,358; annual income of $64,300
Household size of 5: monthly income of $6,275; annual income of $75,300
Household size of 6: monthly income of $7,192; annual income of $86,300
Household size of 7: monthly income of $8,108; annual income of $97,300
Household size of 8: monthly income of $9,025; annual income of $108,300

Add $917 for each additional person in the household.
